Hello From CDI

Recently on āHalf Air On Air,ā Deb and I talked about a music video parody we wanted to make. We had hoped to get that out before the end of 2021, but that didnāt happen. We didnāt just let it slide, however. No. Unlike the hundreds of things we have on our things-to-do lists that never get done, this was not one of them. We pulled through! We persevered! (I basically woke up one day and said āI think Iām ready to work on that video.ā) Now, after many long-awaited months, Deb and I are ready to present āHello From CDI.ā
Deborah is a Clinical Documentation Specialist and the field she works in is called Clinical Documentation Investigation/Integrity, or CDI. In a nutshell, she works in the medical industry reviewing patientsā charts for accuracy and specificity. When Adele came out with her song āHello,ā it wasnāt long before my wifeās creativity kicked in and she started thinking about creating a CDI parody based on the tune.
Last year, she was required to present an educational project for her job. Somehow her supervisor allowed her to write and record her song parody and create a music video as her project. I might be expected, that version was geared more toward education, with a lot of slides full of definitions, charts and articles, and software screenshots that might be helpful to her department. However, it was our intention to make a second version that was more lighthearted, fun, and safe to post publically (without any proprietary images related to her company). Additionally, itās useful whenever someone asks, āSo what do you do as a CDS?ā
